Council’s arrangement was to visit Dunboyne Estate. Isokon, Mansfield Road Estate, Kiln Place Estate.
We had picnic in Hampstead Heath after the tour.
A friend bought drinks/cups/snacks. We chatted and talked until 7pm, a group of 5 walked back to Hampstead and had dinner.
The feedback from the group were the tour was informative and interesting.
Most of the participants aged of 25 to 30, we also have a few up to 65 joined.
Camden Council 於60及70年代聘請了一位目光遠大的建築師, 支持他組成一團talented 的建築師, 為Camden 建造了英國最著明的 council flats/houses。 Camden Council 雖然跟據英國國家的政策, 停止了建造公共房屋(council flats), 但仍然有繼續聘請最優良的建築師建造affording housing。今次將會介紹於60年代及2010年代公共房屋的挑戰及設計, 這些都是獲得建築大獎的設計; 其中Fleet Street Estate 是國家保護建築 List II。原建築師 Neave Brown, 獲得英國皇家建築學會個人最高榮譽 - gold medallist, 他生前一直住在 Fleet Street Estate, 因為他相信自己的設計, 並居住於該社區之中。
